ARCH 302 with Prof Christina Yu focused on a study of residential architecture in Stockholm, Sweden.

“hörn”
/hɜːn/
noun
1. corner, nook
2. area in the angle between converging lines or walls
3. a corner where two walls intersect
4. an intersection of two streets; any of the four outer points off the street at that intersection
From Middle English herne, hyrne, from Old English hyrne (“corner”)

This hörn mediates the residential and the industrial/commercial in this piece of land in Stockholm, Sweden. It also mediates the residents – families live alongside young couples or singles in a format that feels equal for all residents. No unit is more impressive or ‘flashy’ than another.
The metal cladding exterior is inspired by the industrial warehouses near the dock.
